北京时间10月24日消息，洛杉矶湖人队主场104-106不敌波特兰开拓者队，遭遇三连败！赛后，湖人主教练达文-汉姆解释了为何在第四节将威斯布鲁克替换上场。
汉姆表示他之所以让威少回到比赛中，是因为他想要一个运动能力出色的外线防守者，这样湖人就可以在外线完成快速换防了。
对于最后时刻将威少那次投篮，汉姆表示，若是可以重来的话，他希望威少能够直接去攻击篮筐。
汉姆提到的那次投篮发生在距离比赛还剩不到30秒之际，威少投篮前湖人102-101领先开拓者队，威少投篮不中后，利拉德完成追身三分将比分改写成104-102。
而在被反超后，湖人这边直接调整了场上阵容，威少被替换下场。
赛后的记者会上，也有人向汉姆提到了此事，他将威少替换下场是否考虑了威少的感受，哈姆给出的回答则是“我们没时间去照顾到每个人的感受”。
